FRIDAY NIGHT WELCOME RECEPTION

ISLAND OF POSSIBILITIES CONCERT - 6.30pm - 9pm

Let us welcome you to beautiful Victoria, British Columbia and the 31st annual Canadian Down Syndrome  with an evening filled with music, entertainment and fun.

We are so happy to be able to bring you a bit of the magic of the Special Woodstock music festival to Victoria from the nearby town of Duncan, BC. The Special Woodstock festival will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this summer and an annual event that brings together professional musicians, performers with Down syndrome and other development disabilities and music lovers from across the island and afar for a day of music, laughter and joy. We know you will enjoy singing along or dancing to the beat of our house band, special guests as well as performers with Down syndrome on our main stage.

Additionally we will have a whole host of games and activities planned in our Harbour room including arts and crafts, face painting and more and even a Karaoke room where children (of all ages) can share the spotlight and live out their dreams singing their favourite songs.

Snacks will be available and appetizers served throughout the evening.

SATURDAY NIGHT SOCIAL

Put on those dancing shoes or channel your inner superhero (or both). On Saturday night we have something for everyone. Start the evening off with a concert by award winning Canadian performer and Down syndrome champion Rick Scott who will be joined by his Roots & Grooves partner, Nico Rhodes. Following the concert, delegates are invited to dance the night away in the main ballroom to the sounds of our DJ. Snacks and appetizers will be available throughout the night.

For the younger ones (or young at heart), you can join us in the Songhees Room for a movie and pizza/popcorn party and screening of Incredibles 2. Dress as your favourite superhero as there just might be some special guests to welcome our party goers.
